This is the engagement ceremony of Mariam and Hamza, so first off, here’s Mariam

Hang on! This is all supposed to be about Hamza and his gal….so back to the main topic!

And Mariam finally gets her man. Well she will after the wedding next summer….will keep you all posted!

This is the Civil ceremony and Walima for Sajida & Faisal. I do not travel to Winchester often, but this was worth the trip and I can see how the feel in love with the place as soon as they saw it.

I guess if your doing a function in a place like this you gonna need a dress to match…..

The grounds are pretty slick too and there is a bridge with a sign which says ‘do not use’ – but you only get married once – LOL

So, you got the got the bling-bling venue and matching dress….. the only way your gonna leave now is with a Rolls Royce and fireworks!

I have not posted a Sikh wedding on my blog – so here it is! Kick off commences with parties and rituals before the wedding day.

It can get quite packed and I took this shot in between the crowd. The ladies are dancing in the centre of a circle and I really dig the flowing clothes and symmetry in their arms.

On onto the main event!

I love this shot of Manjas stepping out of the car – whose the daddy!

Aman is a popular girl with a dozen or so brothers to help her out.

Now back at Aman’s house and we start the joyful haggling

The girls were gonna make it tough for Manjas….they even gave him the world’s smallest scissors to cut the ribbon!

But he finally gets his gal

Last leg, back to the grooms paternal home………it has been a long day, but the smiles are still warm.

It’s traditional to finish with a shot of the bride in the new home to signify that she has now well and truly arrived –  I wanted something with the same meaning, but a bit more abstract – mission accomplished!

It’s been a while since I last posted – but I am now back with a vengeance with more posts coming soon!

Kick off commences with Krishna & Bhavik – this was a nice relaxed wedding with smiles all round! Bhavik made a grand entrance with Bollyood tunes and dancing whilst he was still in the car!

The best man and his sister Jay were responsible for keeping his nose out of reach……

…..but Krishna’s mum was just one step ahead

I did debate with the best man if contact had been made, and he replied that it had only been for a split second. But then, just like a star football striker, a split second is all you need. And this face just says one thing…………job done!

But the wedding can not take place without the bride, so on to Krishna

The leaving ceremony is always a little sad…….

….and they were given a ‘magic tin’ to sustain them on the long journey back home. It is very symbolic and is packed with love, hope, blessings, and calories!

Next stop, change of outfits and onto party central!

The first dance - and this particular shot was the one that I really liked. You know (or can guess) that it’s Krishna & Bhavik, in a crowded room with all eyes upon them. But you can’t see the crowd, or even their faces! But what you do see is a girl, being  gently held by a guy – and that’s what I really wanted to show.
